A CASED .30 (RIMFIRE) FOUR-BARRELLED POCKET-PISTOL, MODEL 'TIPPING & LAWDEN, SHARPS PATENT', serial no. 1985,
circa 1870, with blued 3in. barrel-group, plain silver-plated frame signed 'TIPPING & LAWDEN SHARP'S PATENT' in a circle around the hammer axis screw on the left hand side, centrally mounted blued hammer with rotary auto-indexing nose (hammer spring at fault), black 'gutta-percha' grips with raised foliate design and blued push button opener, the whole with much original finish remaining TOGETHER WITH its mahogany English market storage case with brass shield-shaped escutcheon to the burr-walnut veneered lid, compartmented and lined in blue baize, John Blissett parchment trade label to inside of lid and containing the original clearing rod (handle-missing) (1528)
