with 27 1/4in. hatchet-point blade, slightly swollen at the tip, silver 'habaki', pierced brass tsuba of General Officer quality (traces of gilding), cotton-wrapped hilt, complete with its brass-mounted, brown-painted 'saya'
Other Notes: A label attached to the sword states 'Army sword owned by Lieutenant Fakuda Hirashi of 49th Army'
