circa 1760, with round, tapering 72 1/2in. barrel swamped at the muzzle (darkly stained), applied fore-sight with tear-drop apron, flat tapering borderline engraved sighting plane at breech terminating in a tear-drop, solid iron stepped top-tang extending to comb (tip missing), and filed with sighting groove, curved and radiused borderline engraved military-style lock signed 'ED. NORTH', unbridled frizzen, walnut handrail one-piece full-stock with a carved apron around the top-tang, no provision for heel-plate, sliding wood trap-door at toe with internal cavities for wads, brass trigger-guard tang and bow with borderline and scroll engraving, plain iron side-plate, brass ramrod throat and three turned ramrod thimbles, probable replacement wooden ramrod
