A 20-BORE SNAPHAUNCE MOORISH JEZAIL,
circa 1880, with round, tapering 50in. barrel, the breech section of barrel decorated in silver koftgari scroll-work surrounding a stamped makers mark, bead fore-sight within a stylized starburst surround, standing notch rear-sight, engraved top-tang, flat snaphaunce lock with silver and gilt geometric inlays and stamped with a circular Arabic makers mark, hardwood full-stock decorated with silver wire scrolls to the butt, around the top-tang and bordering the heel-plate, contrasting wood heel-plate, the back of plate decorated with geometric designs formed from scrolls, iron trigger-guard bow and tang, three side nails with carved escutcheons, seven sheet-brass barrel-bands decorated with dot-punched designs and plain wood ramrod (iron surfaces stained)
