Continental, probably Belgian circa 1800, with brass octagonal 8 1/2in. barrel, private English proofs, solid iron top-tang, flat border-engraved lock with semi-rainproof pan and roller bearing to the frizzen-spring, Continental-style full-stock, chequered full pistol-grip with swollen pommel, engraved iron pommel-cap, iron pillar trigger-guard bow with vase finial and brass-tipped mahogany ramrod (old inlet repairs to fore-end edges)
