large model 45in. overall, circa 1911, with sighted 19 1/4in. barrel, the air-chamber marked 'THE BSA AIR RIFLE (IMPROVED MODEL 'D'), THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO LTD ENGLAND, SOLE MANUFACTURERS', straight hand walnut butt-stock chequered at the wrist, iron heel-plate, underside near trigger-block stamped '14 1/4' and side-catch under-lever stamped 'BSA PATENTS 8761-04, 25783-10, RD 49972', traces of finish throughout
