AN EXTREMELY RARE .177 UNDER-LEVER SPRING AIR-RIFLE, MODEL '58', no visible serial number,
third series circa 1936, with blued tapering 19 1/2in. barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, dove-tailed standing notch rear-sight elevating on a wheel, manual loading tap, blued air-chamber stamped with a standing figure of 'Diana' in the act of discarding a bow and arrow in favour of an air-rifle above the wording 'DIANA MOD. 58', milled end-cap, walnut half-stock with iron heel-plate and trigger-guard bow, two-stage trigger, finger-grooves to the fore-end sides and machined under-lever with push-button release, the whole retaining much original finish, fading to brown in high wear areas
Other Notes: The pre-war Diana Model 58 was the flagship gun of the Diana range, built to a quality far and away exceeding their other contemporary offerings. In 1937 the price of a Diana 58 was nearly double that of an average shotgun
