A .650 PERCUSSION SINGLE-SHOT CARBINE, MODEL 'CONSTABULARY PATTERN', serial no. 24, WITH BAYONET,
dated for 1852, with round iron 26 1/2in. barrel, block fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, numerous ordnance inspectors stamps at breech, borderline engraved bar-action lock signed 'TOWER' together with the date and a crown 'V.R.' cypher, walnut three-quarter sock, brass furniture, the heel-plate spur stamped '24', the nose-cap with 'Lovells' catch, iron swivels and provision for ramrod (missing) TOGETHER WITH a period socket bayonet signed 'HILL', spring scabbard catch to the inside of the triangular cross-section blade (some staining, missing scabbard)
