A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'ADAMS PATENT', serial no. 40555,
circa 1855, with octagonal blued 5 3/4in. barrel, the top-strap signed 'JOHN BLANCH & SON, 29 GRACECHURCH ST. LONDON', dove-tailed blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, plain numbered cylinder, sliding safe to the right hand side of the solid frame, spurred hammer, chequered one-piece walnut grip, iron butt-cap, spurred trigger-guard bow and rammer mounted to the left hand side of barrel, the whole retaining much of an early re-finish COMPLETE WITH its makers original oak storage case, lined in green baize and with a 'Blanch' trade label to the inside of the lid, together with a number of period, probably original to the gun accessories including a powder-flask, oil-bottle, nipple-key, cleaning rod and bullet-mould
