A JAPANESE WORLD WAR TWO SHIN-GUNTO MOUNTED FIELD-OFFICERS KATANA,
with earlier 26in. blade, visible 'hamon', signed on the tang and stamped with a mark probably of the furniture fitter, gilded 'habaki', standard military 'shin-gunto' mounts with locking catch (gilding worn), black laquered 'saya' (distressed) with leather outer field cover and one suspension ring, retaining its original blue and red silk sword knot (three small edge nicks to blade)
