circa 1865, with blued 7 1/2in. barrel signed 'COLT BREVETE', blued plain cylinder with deeply roll-engraved riders on horseback scene and Belgian proofs, colour-hardened open iron frame, brass square-backed trigger-guard and grip-straps, smooth walnut one-piece grip and hinged under-barrel rammer, the whole retaining virtually all its factory finish throughout
