for 1853, with 7 1/2in. blued octagonal barrel, the top-flat signed 'ADDRESS COL COLT LONDON', London proofs, plain cylinder with roll engraved scene, open iron colour-hardened frame, silver plated brass back-strap and round-backed trigger-guard, smooth walnut one-piece grip and hinged under-barrel rammer, the whole retaining a remarkable amount of original finish, COMPLETE WITH its manufacturers mahogany case, compartmented and lined in green velvet, Colt's instruction label to inside of lid and including an 'L' shaped nipple key, brass ball and bullet mould, large bag-shaped powder flask marked 'COLTS NAVY FLASK' and signed 'James Dixon & Son, Sheffield', an Eley Bros. cap tin and a nickel-plated oil bottle
