A FINE CASED .36 PERCUSSION SIX-SHOT FACTORY ENGRAVED REVOLVER, MODEL '1851 NAVY', serial no. 801,
for 1853, with 7 1/2in. blued octagonal barrel, the top-flat signed 'ADDRESS COL COLT LONDON', engraved band at muzzle, border and scroll engraving at breech, London proofs, plain cylinder with roll engraved scene, open iron colour-hardened frame with scroll engraving, scroll and shell engraved silver plated brass back-strap and round-backed trigger-guard, the back-strap also engraved with a male bust above a wreath, smooth walnut one-piece grip fitted with the scarce 'London Agency' lanyard aperture, hinged under-barrel rammer, the whole retaining much original finish (barrel possibly re-blued in antiquity), COMPLETE WITH its manufacturers oak case, compartmented and lined in maroon velvet (faded), Colt's instruction label to inside of lid and including an 'L' shaped nipple key, brass ball and bullet mould, large bag-shaped powder flask signed 'James Dixon & Son, Sheffield', a cap tin and a cleaning rod
