for 1853, with blued 7 1/2in. barrel signed 'ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON', engraved band and gold-line at muzzle, scroll engraved panels with gold borderlines at breech, plain cylinder with roll engraved naval scene and gold borders, scroll engraved panels to the colour-hardened action also with gold borderlines, scroll engraved gold bordered hammer, silver plated and scroll engraved square-back trigger-guard bow and grip-straps, finely chequered walnut one-piece grip, colour-hardened under-barrel rammer with gold bordered and scroll engraved hinge, the whole retaining much original colour and finish COMPLETE WITH its mahogany storage case compartmented and lined in blue velvet and including an 'L' shaped nipple key, an oil bottle, a large bag-shaped flask marked 'COLT'S NAVY FLASK' and signed 'James Dixon & Sons Sheffield, an original cleaning rod and an iron ball and bullet mould
