A GOOD CASED .31 PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT REVOLVER, MODEL '1849 POCKET', serial no. 2830,
for 1854, with octagonal 4in. barrel (traces of finish remaining), the breech end signed 'ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON', London proofs, plain cylinder with roll-engraved scene, open colour-hardened iron frame (strong traces of colour), blued iron trigger-guard and grip-straps, smooth walnut one-piece grip stamped with a large British ordnance 'crow's foot' arrow on the left, the right hand side with longitudinal split and articulated under-barrel loading lever, COMPLETE WITH its original makers mahogany storage case compartmented and lined in blue velvet with a parchment instruction label to the inside of the lid and a full complement of accessories including a bag-shaped powder flask marked 'COLT'S POCKET FLASK' and signed James Dixon, Sheffield (spring at fault), a cap-tin, an 'L' shaped nipple-key, a steel cleaning rod and an iron ball and bullet mould
