for 1862, with blued octagonal 5in. barrel (much finish remaining), the breech end signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA', London proofs, plain cylinder with roll-engraved scene (cleaned, some pitting), open colour-hardened iron frame, silver-plated brass trigger-guard and grip-straps (loss to plating mainly on backstrap), smooth walnut one-piece grip and articulated under-barrel loading lever, the whole retaining much factory colour and finish COMPLETE WITH its English market oak storage case compartmented and lined in green baize with a parchment instruction label to the inside of the lid and a full complement of accessories including a bag-shaped powder flask signed James Dixon, Sheffield, an Eley Bros cap-tin, an 'L' shaped nipple-key, a steel cleaning rod and an iron ball and bullet mould
