A FINE CASED PAIR OF 25-BORE PERCUSSION SAW-HANDLED DUELLING PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1810, with later conversion to percussion via drum and nipple by the makers, with round 8in. rebrowned twist barrels signed on the flat sighting-plane 'LONDON', applied fore-sights, standing notch rear-sight to the engraved top-tangs, colour-hardened breech-blocks bordered by gold lines, bevel-edged border and scroll engraved stepped-tail lockplates signed 'H. NOCK', scroll engraved slab-sided hammers with sliding safes behind, walnut half-stocks with finely chequered saw-grips, swollen flat-based pommels with inlet engraved iron caps, blued trigger-guard tangs and spurred bows engraved with borders and scrolls, pineapple finials, white metal oval take-down wedge escutcheons and fore-end caps, and brass-mounted mahogany ramrods with worm ends TOGETHER WITH their makers original oak storage case, compartmented and relined in old green baize and containing a leather-covered two-way flask
