for 1886, with blued 5 1/2in. barrel, the top signed 'COLT'S PT FA MFG CO HARTFORD CT USA, DEPOT 14 PALL MALL LONDON', crescent fore-sight, sighting notch to the top-strap, fluted cylinder, solid frame with hinged loading gate, chequered hard-rubber birdshead grips with lanyard ring at heel, the whole retaining virtually all its original factory blue TOGETHER WITH its London agency oak storage case, compartmented and lined in red baize, Depot 14 parchment label to inside of lid and circular brass raised escutcheon to the outside initialled 'R.V.R'.
