circa 1864, with octagonal 4in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS CO. NEWARK N.J.', blade fore-sight, plain cylinder with etched five-panel scene, twelve rear locking notches, plain open frame, smooth walnut grips with brass grip-straps and trigger-guard (traces of silver plating), hinged under-barrel rammer, traces of original finish remaining
