A FINE CASED 80-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT TRIGGER-COCKING REVOLVER, MODEL '1851 ADAMS', serial no. 20410Y,
circa 1853, with blued octagonal 5in. barrel signed on the top-strap 'W.& I RIGBY, DUBLIN' and bordered with scroll engraving, dove-tailed bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, engraved band at muzzle, scroll engraving at breech, plain cylinder with engraved band to the front edge, 'Y' shaped side safety spring, spur-less hammer, 'Tranter's' patent double trigger with patent use number '1308', chequered walnut spurred grip, iron engraved butt-cap with lanyard ring and provision for a demountable loading lever on the left hand side of frame, the whole retaining much original finish TOGETHER WITH a period walnut storage case compartmented and lined in green baize, 'John Rigby & Co London trade label to inside of lid and containing a number of period accessories including a bag-shaped powder-flask signed James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, the original loading lever, a nipple-key, an oil-bottle, a double-cavity brass ball and bullet-mould, a wood cleaning rod and two tins, one of caps and the other lubricating compound
