circa 1863, with blued tip-up octagonal 3 1/2in. barrel, traces of signature to the sighting rib (faintly stamped when new), crescent fore-sight, plain blued cylinder, plain blued frame, smooth flared rose-wood grips and under-barrel fixed ejector, the whole retaining much original blued finish
