A PAIR OF 40-BORE FLINTLOCK BOXLOCK POCKET PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1805, with round turn-off 1 3/4in. barrels (frozen), deeply engraved band of acanthus leaves to the muzzles, rounded bodies with engraved trophies of flags to both sides, the left hand side of both pistols signed 'THEOPS. RICHARDS', central hammer actions with rainproof engraved pans, roller-bearing frizzen-springs and sliding safes behind the hammers also locking the frizzens, finely chequered walnut butts with clipped-corner rectangular silver escutcheons to the wrists and concealed folding automatic triggers
