circa 1865, with 5 1/2in. octagonal barrel, the left hand side marked 'MERWIN & BRAY NEW-YORK', the raised sighting rib signed 'PLANT'S MFG CO NEWHAVEN C.T.', brass frame (strong traces of nickel-plate remaining), rear-mounted ejector-rod, plain iron cylinder (bored through), two-piece rosewood flared grips and sheath trigger
