BATSON, LONDON BRITISH PATTERN 1821 OFFICERS SWORD FOR THE ARMY SERVICE CORPS circa 1915, with straight Wilkinson type 34 1/2in. spear-point blade, etched for the first half of its length with scrolls surrounding a central panel with a 'GRV' crown cypher to the left and a similar panel with 'ASC' to the right, 'BATSON, LONDON' etched in a shield to the forte with an inlet proof poincon to the reverse, iron three-bar hilt with turned-down quillion, chequered backstrap and pale sharkskin wire-bound grip, COMPLETE WITH its leather field scabbard (surface distressed) and a Sam Browne sword-frog
