circa 1889, with 5in. sighted barrel, raised top-rib signed by the makers with patent dates to 1880, fluted cylinder, break-open frame with automatic ejection mechanism, chequered hard-rubber grips embossed with the Smith & Wesson trademark, small traces of original finish in sheltered areas, the remainder darkly stained
