circa 1878, with ovoid nickel-plated 6in. barrel, crescent fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, nickel-plated frame, plain cylinder with forward locking notches, spurred hammer, chequered walnut grips, lanyard ring to heel and swinging centrally stored ejector rod with barrel-mounted crane, the whole probably re-nickeled and with areas of polished pitting TOGETHER WITH a competently made later oak storage-case, compartmented and lined in blue baize and containing a period turn-screw, oil bottle and cleaning rod and complete with 6 rounds of dummy .500 boxer cartridges
