Prince's patent no. 386 of 21st February 1855, with 31 1/2in. browned twist barrel rifled with five grooves, plain breech, blade fore-sight, rear-sight of one standing and two folding leaves, the top-tang numbered '73' and engraved 'PRINCE'S PATENT' (rubbed), borderline engraved back-action lock signed 'PRINCE & GREEN 138 NEW BOND ST. LONDON', walnut half-stock with chequered grip and fore-end, iron heel-plate with long top-spur, iron trigger-guard bow with safety-catch, under-slung bolt operating within an iron guide set in the fore-end wood, brass nose-cap and barrel-guide
