A SCARCE CASED .450 FIVE-SHOT POCKET REVOLVER, MODEL 'THE TOWER BULLDOG', serial no. 308,
circa 1882, with Birmingham proved blued ovoid 2 3/8in. barrel, crescent fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap between the words 'THE TOWER' and 'BULLDOG', the left hand side of frame marked at breech 'TRADE MARK LONDON TOWER' together with a pictorial depiction of the Tower Of London, the side of top-strap marked 'FOR .450 CENTRAL FIRE CARTRIDGES', fluted blued cylinder, blued solid frame with polished loading gate, polished hammer and trigger, chequered walnut birdshead grips, blued trigger-guard bow and centrally mounted swing-out ejector-rod, the whole remaining in fine condition with some speckled corrosion spots TOGETHER WITH its leather travel case, compartmented and lined in red baize and containing a cleaning rod and oil bottle and parchment 'E.M. Reilly trade-label to inner lid (leather case strap at fault)
