A 10-BORE (73MM) 1874 PATENT DOUBLE-BARRELLED TOPLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 21667,
32in. Greener trademark nitro reproved bold damascus barrels, broad rib engraved 'W. W. GREENER. 68 HAYMARKET. LONDON.', 73mm chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and 3/4 choke, Greener patent treble-grip action, patent no. 3090 of 9th Sept. 1874, carved percussion fences, broad strikers, rebounding sidelocks with carved c-scroll hammers, border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 14 1/4in. figured semi-pistolgrip stock with sling eyes and including steel buttplate, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release, missing finial, weight 10lb.
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was finished with 32in. barrels on the 17th June 1880 as one of a large batch of 10-bore toplever wildfowling hammerguns
