circa 1870, with blued 8in. octagonal barrel, the top-flat signed 'PATENTED SEPT 14 1858, E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NEW YORK USA NEW MODEL' (rubbed, some letters illegible), pillar fore-sight, sighting notch to the top-strap, plain cylinder, solid frame, smooth walnut grips, brass trigger-guard and hinged under-barrel rammer, the whole heavily refinished with loss to details and sharp edges
