28 3/8in. (72cm) Witten Excelsior-steel black powder only barrels, broad raised finely matted rib with gold bead fore-sight and intermediate bead sight, banner engraved 'STAHL & BERGER. HAMBURG' and with finely engraved feathered bands at the breech ends, the sides engraved 'BURGER MEISTER' and with 'S.B.H.' in a roundel, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. full choke in both, scroll-back multiple bite action with side-bolsters, inverted serpentine side-clips, dolls-head extension and angled Greener type cross bolt, pierced toplever, Greener type manual side-safety, detachable floorplate, detachable locks of J. Deeley and L.B. Taylor 1897 patent type, horn triggerguard (lightly damaged), action engraved with rococo floral designs, 14 5/8in. well-figured semi-pistolgrip stock with lanciform horn drop-points, sling swivels and including 7/8in. rubber recoil pad, fore-end with ornately bordered chequering and Deeley & Edge patent release catch, weight 7lb. 6oz.
