30in. replacement nitro reproved damascus barrels (by the makers), rib engraved '2' and 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63 PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH.' and engraved with acanthus scroll motifs at the breech end, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and true cyl. choke, Dickson patent round-action incorporating patents 9399 and 10621 of 1887, use number 321, toplever engraved '1', gold cocking-indicators, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, action bar with later repair, crosspin replaced, action and furniture engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork, brushed bright finish, 14in. figured stock (insert repair at hand, chequering worn smooth), replacement fore-end inlaid '2', weight 6lb. 14oz.

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed in October 1890 with 29in. barrels for a James McDowall Esq.
