33in. black powder only bold damascus barrels, broad rib engraved 'CHARLES BOSWELL. MAKER. 126 STRAND. LONDON. W.C.', action incorporating A. Lancaster patent underlever operated extractor system, patent no. 1525 of 3rd June 1865, carved percussion fences with fine filiciform engraving, rebounding back-action locks with dolphin hammers, border and acanthus scroll engraving, the lockplates signed 'CHARLES BOSWELL' in a scrolling banner, the action with 'A. LANCASTER'S PATENT', retaining some original colour-hardening and finish, 14 3/8in. replacement stock including 1in. rubber recoil pad, weight 9lb. 13oz.
