KESSLER SUHL', manual safety, cocking-indicators, set front trigger, carved in high relief with Indian game scenes, the bolsters carved in relief with snakes intertwined with typha, the left lockplate with an Indian elephant bull with family group confronting Panthera pardus fusca, the right lockplate with Bengal tigers with a stricken deer in the foreground, running deer in the background, the underside carved with acanthus scroll on a matt background framing a vignette of a sacred cow, 14 3/4in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, sling eyes, fluted horn pistolgrip-cap and including 3/4in. leather covered recoil pad, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release catch, weight 10lb. 2oz.
