for 1863, with re-finished 26in. damascus barrels, broad flat top-rib with dove-tailed bead fore-sight and standing notch rear-sight with three additional folding leaves, scroll engraving to the rib-end at breech, border and scroll engraved round-bodied action with swing under-lever, border and scroll engraved back-action locks signed 'WILKINSON & SON', scroll engraved hammers with bolted safeties, fully scroll engraved long top-tang with ball end, walnut chequered full pistol-grip butt-stock, engraved iron grip-cap, raised tear-drop cheek-piece, iron heel-plate, chequered walnut splinter fore-end with swing catch marked 'WILKINSON'S LEVER FORE END REGISTERED 13th SEPTr 1860' and eyelets for sling
Other Notes: According to the Wilkinson records this rifle was completed for a Captain Fisher in June of 1863. It is believed that this is Capt, Edward Row Fisher, 4th Dragoon Guards who served in the Crimea, being present as a Lieutenant at the battles of Balaclava, Tchernaya and Sebastopol, being subsequently promoted to the rank of Captain in 1860
