serial number on barrel lump only, 28in. sleeved nitro barrels, sunken rib engraved with Gibbs details (indistinct), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and 3/4 choke, Gibbs & Pitt patent action, patent no. 284 of 24th January 1873, use number 210, slim fences, manual side lever safety with 'BOLTED' detail, (at fault), acanthus scroll engraving, the top of the action with an oval engraved 'GIBBS & PITT. PATENT. NO. 210. BRISTOL.', 15in. figured stock including steel buttplate, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release catch and horn finial, weight 6lb. 12oz.
