LONDON.' and the ribs gold-inlaid '1' and '2', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke (both), patent gas checks, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, border engraving, No.1 retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, No.2 brushed and blued, 15 1/2in. figured replacement stocks (No.1 including 3/8in. wooden extension) with raised combs, 6lb. 9oz. (No.1) 6lb. 10oz. (No.2), in their makers leather case, lid exterior marked 'T.A. SUTTON'
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this pair of guns were completed in July and August 1910 respectively as No.3 Models, for a 'Sutton'. Licences included in the case are for a Thomas Alexander Sutton of Westlecott Manor, Swindon, Wiltshire.
