for 1881, with round 26in. barrel, matted sighting plain signed by the maker (rubbed, some pitting), dove-tailed fore-sight, buck-horn rear-sight (lifter absent), plain receiver (some pitting) with sliding dust cover operating on a screwed down rail, scroll engraved central hammer, top-tang marked 'MODEL 1876', fancy 3x walnut butt-stock with chequered pistol-grip, inlaid ebony detail to grip-pommel, chequered horn heel-plate, curved finger-lever with scroll engraving to the hinge, fancy 3x chequered walnut fore-end and half-magazine
Other Notes: The left side of the lower tang is stamped with 'XXX' and the special order workshop number '286S'
