A FINE JAPANESE WAKIZASHI, UNSIGNED
probably mid 19th century, with 18in. slightly curved earlier blade, clearly visible 'rolling cloud' 'hamon', 'habaki' with 'cat scratches', flattened oval finely pierced iron 'tsuba' with gilded decoration of dragons, carp and pagodas, finely scaled 'same' with gilded 'menuki' and cotton binding, the textured laquered 'saya' with two bronze alloy bands towards the tip, complete with a 'kozuka' with damascus style copper alloy hilt with gilded detail (signature illegible)
