A CASED LIMITED EDITION COMMEMORATIVE BOWIE-KNIFE, serial no. 21,
of 100 pieces produced in 1971, being the last run of bowie knives produced by George Wostenholm prior to their merger with Joseph Rogers & Sons, with broad 10in. clip-point blade false edged for the last 5in., scalloped back, the left hand side of blade stamped 'G. WOSTENHOLM & SON, WASHINGTON WORKS, SHEFFIELD ENGLAND' above a large etched panel edged with scrolls and bearing the inscription '1 OF 100, OF THE LAST BOWIE KNIVES, MADE BY GEORGE WOSTENHOLM & SON PRIOR TO OUR MERGER WITH JOSEPH ROGERS & SONS, SHEFFIELD, NOVEMBER 1971, No.21', the ricasso stamped 'I*XL', boat-shaped nickel cross-guard, polished buffalo-horn scales held by four nickel rivets and a central nickel rectangular escutcheon, the whole appearing unused TOGETHER WITH its red pebbled-leatherette covered storage case, the outside of lid with gold blocked border and central 'I*XL', white satin lining to lid and dark red velvet lining to case and complete with its cellophane 'G. Wostenholm' storage wrapper
