circa 1871, with round 21in. barrel, blade fore-sight with applied muzzle-ring forming the fore-sight protector, dove-tailed rear-sight with swivelling two-position blade, octagonal breech, typical Remington-type rolling-block action marked 'BREVETE REMINGTON 12127' on the left hand side of breech and 'E.M & L NAGANT A LIEGE' above the trigger, walnut straight-hand butt-stock stamped with a Wallonian crowned 'W' above 'LUIK 1871' on the right hand side and the painted number '209' around the toe, the left side of wrist with saddle bar and twin interlocked loose rings, splinter fore-end and one iron barrel-band, retaining its Weapons Collection identity plaque to left hand side of butt and its Collection identity disc
