circa 1850, with re-blued octagonal 3in. barrels, engraved bands at muzzles, borderline and scroll engraved squared central-hammer boxlock actions with radiused fronts, sliding safes to the top-tangs (one missing thumb-piece), smooth bag-shaped walnut butts with oval escutcheons to the wrists, engraved iron trigger-guard bows and Birmingham proofs, TOGETHER WITH an unassociated walnut case, re-compartmented and re-lined in green baize, reproduction trade-label for 'HENRY AKRILL' to the inside of lid and containing a number of period and reproduction accessories
