I.I. BHAIR
A FINE COMPOSED PAIR OF 18-BORE FLINTLOCK MILITARY HOLSTER-PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
Dutch, circa 1705 with 14 1/4in. swamped barrels, the slightly raised tapering sighting flats signed 'I.I. BHAIR' (for Johan Jacob Behr of Wurtzburg, Maastricht & Liege), boat-shaped iron fore-sights, flat sides to the breech sections, sighting grooves to the solid top-tangs, plain radiused locks with moulded borders and raised tips to the tails, signed 'I.I BHAIR' forward of the hammers, blued pans and frizzens, walnut full-stocks with carved borders and carved panels around the top-tangs, swollen pommels with large brass stepped long-eared butt-caps, shield-shaped escutcheons surmounted by coronets, baluster thimbles and original brass tipped ramrods (small chip forwards of one lock and one fore-end repaired otherwise extremely fine condition)
