A 15-BORE PERCUSSION CARBINE WITH FOLDING BAYONET, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'MARECHAUSSEE', serial no 46,
Dutch, converted from flint and dated for 1825, with plain round 27 1/2in. barrel 'in the white', boat-shaped fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the plain top-tang engraved with the date '1825', breech-block dated 1827 and serial numbered, flat bevel-edged lockplate with radiused tail and remnants of a brass pan, plain walnut half-stock, the brass heel-plate top-spur dated '1830' and stamped 'K.M. 46', brass sling-loop at toe, iron finger-grooved trigger-guard tang with brass bow, brass 'S' shaped sideplate, single iron barrel band with sling-swivel and hook to retain the folding bayonet, brass fore-end cap with ramrod throat, iron ramrod and boss at muzzle with spring-catch retaining the swiveling, folding, triangular form bayonet
