German, converted from flint in 1844, with 41in. shallow rifled barrel 'in the white', brass double nose-band with applied iron bladed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with auxilliary peep and folding long-range ladder, flat, slightly curved flat lock signed forwards of the hammer 'SUHL' over 'S.C.' and surmounted with a Guelphic crown, walnut three-quarter stock with brass furniture, raised cheek-piece and original iron ramrod TOGETHER WITH an associated socket bayonet, unmarked, no scabbard
