circa 1857, with blued octagonal 6in. barrel, barleycorn fore-sight, engraved band at muzzle, scroll engraving at breech, the top-strap signed 'JOHN HAYTON GRAHAM'S TOWN', standing notch rear-sight, plain cylinder with engraved rope band to leading edge, solid border-line and scroll engraved frame, spurred hammer, hinged swinging safe mounted on the right hand side of frame, chequered walnut grip, Tranters Patent articulated rammer mounted to the left hand side of barrel, strong traces of original finish throughout
