circa 1856, with blued octagonal 6in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, the top-strap signed 'F. BARNES & CO 109 FENCHURCH ST.T LONDON', solid borderline engraved blued frame, plain cylinder, wing-nut cylinder release, sliding safe to right-hand side of frame, 'L' shaped hammer safety spring, one-piece chequered walnut grip, iron grip-cap, spurred hammer (action at fault) and Tranter-style rammer mounted to the left hand side of frame above trigger, the whole retaining much original finish with some bruising
