circa 1860, with octagonal break-open browned damascus 24in. barrel signed 'THE RIGBY RIFLE CO.', micro-groove rifling, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, rear-sight with one standing and two folding leaves, faceted butter-knife bolt-handle with chequered tip, applied breech-block, the top-flat marked 'TRADE MARK' either side of the Rigby monogram, borderline and scroll engraved colour-hardened action with vacant banner on the left hand side, central hammer with wingnut needle release, chequered straight-hand walnut butt-stock, engraved iron heel-plate, engraved iron trigger-guard bow and chequered walnut splinter fore-end with moulded horn tip, good amount of original finish throughout
