circa 1860, with heavy octagonal twist-iron 32in. barrel, multi-groove rifling, dove-tailed white-metal low-bladed fore-sight, dove-tailed iron rear-sight of one standing and three folding leaves, the top-flat at breech signed 'G. BELL GLASGOW', squared patent breech with acanthus scroll engraving and traces of colour, scroll engraved top-tang, platinum plug, border and scroll engraved bar-action lock signed 'GEORGE BELL' in script, scroll engraved slab-sided dolphin headed hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture, the heel-plate with scroll engraved top-spur, the trigger-guard tang with chequered pistol-grip finger-spur and scroll engraving, engraved bow, single set trigger, engraved finial and turned ramrod throat with plain thimbles and period replacement ramrod
