circa 1790, with blued plain turn-off 3in. barrels, starred muzzles, slab-sided boxlock action engraved with trophies of flags and foliage to both sides and signed within central oval cartouches 'DAVIDSON' on the left and 'LONDON' on the right, 'C' shaped tap-handle with engraved boss to the left hand side, central hammer (top-jaw replaced), sliding safe to the top-tang, walnut slab-sided butt (crack at head) with silver oval escutcheon to the wrist and blued trigger-guard bow engraved with a star, Birmingham proofs
